I made these ceramic bases for puppet heads for two reasons. Firstly, I realised that it was no use creating pictorial references for blind students, so I started to make 3D reference material for them. Secondly, it would help students out to have a ready-made base on which to begin building their character, which could then be cleaned and re-used by other students. Saves all the hassle of covering head proportion in depth.
